About Me

In the distant history of 1999, a child was born in Turlock California.

That child turned out to be a total dork.

And that child, was me.

Hi! My name is Nathan Heisler, and I’m one of the lucky few that has been given the opportunity to run a Stanislaus-centered blog. I’m finishing my senior year at Stan State with a Major in Communication Studies and I spend what free time I have voraciously (but conscientiously) consuming entertainment media. Books, podcasts, movies, and shows occupy at least 10% of my brain at all times, which can make sleeping a real hassle. I think about The Princess Bride all the time, for instance. I think about it a lot. I’m thinking about it right now.

My hope is that through this blog you will be able to not just learn about me, but about Stanislaus, life as a college student, and Turlock as a whole!

Harmless yet controversial opinions I have include:

  • Broccoli is and always has been the tastiest vegetable.
  • Hairless cats are the cutest type of cat.
  • Titus, Stan State’s beloved Warrior mascot, is secretly a survivor of the lost Roman legion.

Thanks for stopping by, stick around for weekly posts every Tuesday!
